City spruces up for National Folk Festival

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Millennium Gate is getting a face-lift.

Just steps away in the Phill G. McDonald Governmental Plaza, a crew repairs concrete steps.

Downtown trash cans have been repaired, repainted or replaced. Fire hydrants have been repainted.

The city is sprucing up downtown as it prepares to host the North Carolina debut of the National Folk Festival from Sept. 11 to 13.
