Young boy bitten by dog in southern Guilford County

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — A dog bite was reported in southern Guilford County on Monday afternoon.

Guilford County EMS and sheriff’s deputies responded to the intersection of Company Mill Road and Laura Drive in the Climax community at about 4:30 p.m.

According to Col. Randy Powers, a young boy was bitten by a dog. Powers did not specify the boy’s age.

The boy was a visitor at the home where this occurred, Powers said. He stepped outside into the backyard where the dog was confined and was bitten.

The boy was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Powers said the dog was not running loose at the time of the incident.
