PHOENIX — A man in Arizona is accused of decapitating his wife and their pet dogs and then mutilating himself.

The Associated Press reported that Kenneth Dale Wakefield killed Trina Heisch and their two dogs and stashed the bodies in a closet.

The suspect then allegedly gouged out one of his own eyes and cut off his left hand at the forearm.

A neighbor reportedly discovered the scene on July 25 after going to check on the female victim. The suspect allegedly came to the door naked and covered in blood.

Wakefield was jailed under a $2 million bond and faces charges of first-degree murder and two counts of animal cruelty.

A motive for the crimes has not been released. The suspect was arrested after being taken to the hospital.
