2 men accused of attacking jailers in the Guilford County Detention Center

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Two inmates attacked deputies in the Guilford County jail late Wednesday evening.

Dexter Rashad Vanstory, 19, of 1611 Ridgewood Ave., and Malcolm Wayne Simpson, 22, of 300 Edwards Road, Apt. B, both of Greensboro lured a deputy into a cell about 9 p.m., then jumped him, according to arrest warrants. They also attacked a second jailer, warrants state.

Neither of the attackers had weapons, magistrates said.

Both deputies suffered minor injuries and were treated at the jail. One may have suffered a concussion, magistrates said.
