EDEN, N.C. — Experiences from his military and security consulting background have led an Eden native to publish his first fiction novel — an action-adventure tale with an unexpected ending.

Alan Hammock describes “Night of the Hatchet” as a high-tempo action story written in the style of Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum and Clive Cussler.

Hammock, the son of Earl and Louise Hammock of Eden, said he hopes “Night of the Hatchet” will entertain readers as they are transported into a world of adventure.
