MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – A man being called the “world’s worst customer” is accused of slapping a waitress at a Myrtle Beach restaurant and yelling racial slurs.

WBTW reported that 23-year-old Dustin Lowery was arrested Friday night after a reported incident at Shucker’s Raw Bar in Myrtle Beach.

The suspect is accused of calling racial slurs at a black family at the restaurant. When a waitress told him to stop, he allegedly slapped her in the face.

Lowery claims he was “joking” with the family and that the waitress hit him first. But a witness said the waitress did not hit him.

Police said the suspect is more than a foot taller than the waitress and weighs about 120 pounds more than her.

Authorities were called and Lowery was charged with assault and battery in the third degree. He was taken from the restaurant to the Myrtle Beach jail.

A witness also said the suspect tried to leave without paying. The food website Eater.com has referred to the suspect as the “world’s worst customer.”
