TRINITY, N.C. -- Chances are, you or someone you know once had a job making furniture, around here. As recently as the 1990s, there were still tens of thousands of those jobs then, suddenly, they were gone. Well, most of them, anyway.

Competition from other countries -- China, in particular -- made moving production off-shore almost a necessity for survival in the industry and that’s what most American-born CEOs and business owners did. Not Jorge Lagueruela.

And maybe that’s because Lagueruela wasn’t born here. He was born in Cuba and when his family came to America, it saw all the opportunity and possibility. In this edition of the Buckley Report, see why -- and how -- Jorge and his family kept their company’s furniture production right here in the Triad.
