CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — Cabarrus County deputies are investigating a heartbreaking crime.

A woman told WSOC thieves stole a statue from the grave site of her stillborn son. While the statue is worth about $50, the mother told reporter Brittney Johnson what it represents is irreplaceable.

“I talk to him, tell him I love him, and I miss him, tell him to keep looking out for his sisters, and I know he hears me,” Cynthia Whittemore said.

For the past six months, Whittemore has visited the grave of her infant son, Noah, who was born and died on Christmas Day.
