Burlington man accused of stabbing, killing brother on Fourth of July
BURLINGTON, N.C. – A man is accused of stabbing and killing his brother early Fourth of July morning in Burlington.
Abraham William Fryar, 38, of Burlington, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection to the death of 43-year-old David Samuel Fryar.
Burlington police responded to reports of a person lying in the roadway of the 300 block of Homewood Avenue at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
Police said officers arriving on the scene found the victim with multiple lacerations to his body. He was later pronounced dead.
An “altercation” occurred in the roadway involving the two brothers and the suspect is accused of stabbing the victim multiple times, according to police.
Investigators said a motive for the murder has not yet been established.
The suspect is being held in the Alamance County Jail under no bond.
