LESBOS — A baby on a flotation device drifted out to sea alone and away from her parents nearly a mile from shore.

BGN News reported that 10-month-old Melda Ilgin was rescued after floating toward the Greek island of Lesbos on Friday.

The parents were reportedly sunbathing and allegedly forgot about the baby. The baby was rescued by the Turkish Coast Guard and has since been reunited with her family.

Beachgoers reportedly tried to save her, but could not. Her family is said to be happy that she’s back. Video shows the baby floating in the water.
