COLUMBIA, S.C. — A woman exiting a plane at the Columbia Metropolitan Airport was struck by lightning on Saturday, airport officials told WLTX.

Officials said the woman was on an American Airlines flight traveling from Hartford, Conn., to Charlotte, N.C., when the flight was diverted because of weather.

The passengers were getting off the plane and walking to the airport when the woman was struck, according to WLTX.

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition.
