1 charged in connection to death of Winston-Salem man found dead in driveway

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Winston-Salem man who allegedly shot and killed a man over the weekend is now behind bars.

Officers found Brian Braulio Castrellon, 22, lying in the driveway of a home located at 5507 Pine View Drive on Sunday at 6:35 p.m.

Castrellon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said he was shot and struck several times with a blunt object.

An investigation revealed that Castrellon had been involved in some type of altercation with Geronimo Medellin Juarez, 42, the day before.

Juarez was charged with second-degree murder.

Juarez is being held without bond and his court date is set for June 16.
