NC deputy runs red light, crashes into SUV with six people inside

BLADEN COUNTY, N.C. — Six people were hospitalized after a North Carolina deputy ran a red light and hit an SUV, according to WECT.

It happened earlier this week near an intersection in Bladen County as the deputy was responding to an emergency call, according to officials.

There were six people in the SUV including an 8-year-old girl who was airlifted to the hospital. None of the injuries were life-threatening.

The deputy was treated for injuries and has been released. The State Highway Patrol is investigating. It remains uncertain if the deputy will be charged.
