LEXINGTON, N.C. -- The City of Lexington has announced its first new addition to the Depot District.

Bull City Ciderworks, which produces hard apple cider, plans to open a production facility at the old Lexington Home Brands plant. The facility, on South Salisbury Street, will also have a tasting room and be open for tours.

Owner John Clowney says they picked Lexington because of the cheaper rent and central location. Plus, the owners are originally from Davidson County.

Clowney says they'll keep their headquarters and a small-scale cidery in Durham, but their main production facility will move to Lexington later this summer.
