Two dead after tractor-trailer in NC hits car, travels through three yards

NEWTON, N.C. — Two people are dead and one injured after a tractor-trailer in North Carolina hit a car and went through the yards of three homes.

WCNC reported that the crash happened at about 8 a.m. Sunday in Newton when a tractor-trailer struck a small Toyota car, killing two people inside.

Tammy Norman Frady and Albert Lynn Frady were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the station.

The truck then kept going, and slammed into another car as it came to rest in a yard, according to reports.

Officials said the tractor-trailer missed three houses. The driver of the tractor-trailer was airlifted to a hospital. The driver’s condition is unknown.

It remains uncertain what caused the crash.
