Davie County woman accused of beating man with baseball bat for hitting dog

MOCKSVILLE, N.C. — A Davie County woman is accused of beating a man with a baseball bat because he allegedly hit her dog.

WBTV reported that Jodi Annette Renegar, 43, of Mocksville, was arrested last week after she allegedly broke the man’s hand and cut his head.

The man said the dog chased him and tried to bite him as he was riding his dirt bike. He said he hit the dog to avoid being attacked. The man then went to the suspect’s home and she allegedly assaulted him.

The suspect has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon and was jailed under a $150,000 secured bond. She has court planned for July 20.
