NC mom charged in wreck that killed toddler smuggled drugs into prison
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police revealed Monday that the 26-year-old mother who was charged in the wreck that killed her son has had previous run-ins with the law.
Chantee Boyd, 26, was also arrested in November 2014 after she visited an inmate at Lanesboro Correctional Institution in Anson County. Police told WSOC Boyd smuggled nearly 32 grams of marijuana into the prison.
According to police, she slipped drugs to the inmate as she was saying goodbye.
Boyd will appear before a judge Tuesday on charges related to Sunday’s wreck that killed her 3-year-old son and seriously injured her 7-year-old son.
