North Carolina National Guard soldier charged with murder

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police have charged 23-year-old Matthew Emmanuel Brown with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting on Wagon Wheel Court on June 7.

Police confirmed Brown is in the National Guard and was at Fort Bragg training with his unit when he was arrested on Monday.

The shots were reportedly fired from outside the home around 1:15 a.m. June 7 after an argument broke out.
