911 calls reveal family of Greensboro homicide victim home at time of crime

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A woman and her children were home when her husband was fatally shot by another man Sunday night, the News & Record reported.

Alex Michael Brown, 31, of 409 Lowdermilk St. Apt. C, was shot in his apartment about 9:35 p.m. Yves Almando Hairston, 38, of 402 Franklin Blvd., has been charged with first-degree murder in his death.

In 911 calls, a neighbor tried to comfort Brown’s family after the shooting.

“I heard gunshots and (a woman) came out screaming, so something happened,” the female caller said. “I was sitting in my living room and I heard the shots going off.”
