North Carolina couple arrested after air unit spots marijuana plants in backyard
GRANITE QUARRY, N.C. – A North Carolina couple was arrested after a law enforcement air unit found marijuana plants growing in their backyard, according to deputies.
Charles Devon Purser, 44, and Melanie Martin Purser, 43, both of Granite Quarry, face drug charges in connection to the incident on Sunday.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol Air Unit was flying over their home and marijuana plants were found growing in the back of the home, according to deputies.
Officials said a search warrant was obtained and an estimated 32 marijuana plants were recovered from the home. The marijuana was allegedly both and in and outside the home.
Both suspects face drug charges, were jailed under $10,000 secured bonds and have court planned this week.
