WINNIPEG, Manitoba — The United States opened their World Cup campaign by defeating Australia in Winnipeg on Monday night, according to ESPN.

Megan Rapinoe scored twice in the match, as the women’s national team won 3-1.

The U.S. are back in action on Thursday when they face Sweden.
