Puppy stolen from Rowan County Animal Control building

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A Salisbury woman was arrested for allegedly stealing a puppy from Rowan Animal Control.

Officials with Rowan Animal Control said a woman looked at the puppy in the back room, picked up the dog and left the building.

The woman was spotted quickly leaving the parking lot.

After an investigation, Cindy Wilson, 47, was named as a suspect in the case.

Detectives found the stolen puppy when they went to her home located near High Rock Lake.

Wilson was charged with felony larceny.

She’s expected to appear in court on June 4.
