Gov. McCrory to sign bill that extends the waiting period for women seeking abortions

RALEIGH, N.C. – Gov. Pat McCrory said on Wednesday that he plans to sign a bill into law that extends the waiting period for women seeking abortions from 24 to 72 hours, according to WRAL.

The governor’s announcement came after the House gave final approval to the measure.

McCrory said during his 2012 gubernatorial campaign that he would not support new restrictions on access to abortions.
