TOPEKA, Kan. — A photo from a Sonic Drive-in in Topeka, Kan., is going viral after a customer discovered they were storing hot dog buns in the bathroom.

After seeing the post several people contacted KSNT to determine whether the photo was real.

When KSNT contacted Jason Acock, the manager of corporate communications at Sonic, he confirmed that the photo was real. He also said the Sonic was under investigation.

In a written statement KSNT Acock said:

“An employee made an error by storing the bread racks in the restroom for 30 minutes. Upon realizing the error, the manager immediately removed the bread from the location and all bread was discarded. The Franchisee will counsel the employee and give additional training to the entire drive-in staff to ensure proper food safety steps are taken moving forward.”

Health inspectors visited the Sonic Thursday and did not find any more food safety issues.
