RALEIGH, N.C. — WakeMed Campus police have charged a certified nurse assistant who worked at the Raleigh hospital with having sex with a patient.

Bryan Scott Avery, 34, of Fuquay-Varina was booked into the Wake County jail on a charge of a sex offense at an institution. Bond was set at $30,000.

Court documents show the incident happened between January 13 and 15. WakeMed said, while it allegedly happened in January, it was not reported until last week.

An arrest warrant says the victim was “in the custody of WakeMed Health and Hospitals.” A prosecutor said the adult female was a patient there.
