Tractor-trailer filled with chickens overturns on NC-49 near Snow Camp, road closed most of Wednesday

SNOW CAMP, N.C. — A tractor-trailer filled with chickens overturned Wednesday morning in Snow Camp. Four thousand chickens were on board.

The tractor-trailer overturned at about 8 a.m. on NC-49 near Beale Road. The road will be closed until about 7 p.m., officials said.

Driver Rex Daniel Stanley suffered minor injuries and was taken to Alamance Hospital. He was traveling from Staley to Yanceyville.

Officials were detouring drivers left on Friendship Coyle Mill, right on Isleys and left on NC-49.
