GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A ceremony of honor tonight for Greensboro police.

The annual Police and Citizens Appreciation Diner was held Thursday at the empire room downtown where our own Cindy Farmer served as emcee.

The banquet honored a number of officers for their work including the more than a dozen officers who helped the residents of Heritage House.

A number of officers were recognized for saving lives as well as volunteers on the force.

This week marks National Police Week, first designated by President John F. Kennedy.
