Man accused of orchestrating NC couple’s murder pushes to have charges dropped

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — An alleged gang member accused of orchestrating the murder of a Lake Wylie couple is pushing to have those charges dropped.

Jamel Cureton is scheduled to be in court Wednesday to try and prove that agents unlawfully searched his jail cell, but newly released documents claim that’s not the case.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said it did not violate Cureton’s rights while searching his jail cell.

They filed court motions asking a judge to deny his motion to dismiss and they included never-seen-before details on the robbery they said led to the murders of Doug and Debbie London.
