SAN ANTONIO — A woman made a disturbing discovery when she opened a granola bar.

According to KENS, Cynthia Rodriguez opened a Nature Valley granola bar and a bag of cocaine fell out.

Rodriguez reported the incident to San Antonio police in March. She said she originally thought she won a prize.

When officers tested the substance, they confirmed it to be cocaine.

Police told KENS they are trying to determine at what point the cocaine got inside the wrapper.

“We’re not sure if this was something added on purpose or if it was something that may have fallen out of someone’s pocket on the assembly line,” said Sgt. Javier Salazar.

General Mills released a statement Wednesday saying they are confident the drugs did not get into their product at their facility.

Rodriguez said the wrapper did not appear to have been opened at any point before she got the product.
