BALTIMORE — A police officer faces an assault charge after he allegedly bit another man’s testicles during a fight over a woman on Cinco de Mayo, according to Baltimore police.

Baltimore police responded to an assault call shortly before midnight on Tuesday, WBAL reported, citing documents obtained from police.

According to the charging documents, a man said he was assaulted by two men, one of whom bit his testicles, in an alley behind Looney’s Pub.

A woman approached responding officers and said she witnessed the fight. Police said she gave the description of the attacker and said she’d waited at the door of Claddaugh Pub for officers to arrive because she saw him enter the bar, according to charging documents.

Police said Michael Flaig, 31, was found on the second floor of the bar with blood stains on his shirt. The charging documents said FlaigĀ had blood shot eyes, slurred words and a strong odor of alcohol.

Flaig identified himself as an Anne Arundel County (Md.) police officer and after he was identified as one of the attackers, was placed under arrest, according to charging documents.

According to police, Flaig and another man jumped the victim outside the bar after the victim confronted Flaig about touching his female friend and roommate.

The victim reportedly told police Flaig bit his testicles and ran off.

Flaig was charged with second-degree assault.

The second man involved in the altercation has not been located.
