Escaped NC prison inmate captured in Oregon

SALEM, Ore. — Escaped inmate Timothy Hardee was captured by U.S. Marshals Tuesday night in Salem, Ore.

Hardee, 34, escaped from the Greene Correctional Center at noon on Thursday, April 23, according to the N.C. Department of Public Safety.

Officials said he broke into a home less than a mile from the prison after escaping and stole a white Chevy pickup truck.

He was spotted on Friday, April 24, at a pawn shop in High Point.

The details on Hardee’s path to Oregon, his extradition to North Carolina and additional charges have not been released yet.
