Denton man charged with manufacturing methamphetamine

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — A Denton man was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine Monday.

Detectives searched a home located at 314 Vanhoy Drive in Denton at 10:30 a.m.

James Dakota Smith was arrested after detectives found items used to manufacture meth.

Smith was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possessing and distributing meth precursors, and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance.

Smith was placed under a $40,000 secured bond.

His court date is set for June 25.
