HIGH POINT, N.C. — One person died in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 85 near High Point Friday morning.

The car, a Toyota Corolla, went off the road and into a creek near exit 118, where the road splits with Business Interstate 85.

Two people were inside the vehicle when it crashed.

When the Toyota was pulled up from the creek, nearly every window was broken out of the car and the hood of the car was nothing but shredded metal, according to the News & Record. The car had a Virginia license plate.

Trooper N.S. McKee said the vehicle was upright in the creek when it crashed, the News & Record reported, and the water was about half-way up the side of the vehicle.
