GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Family Justice Center in Greensboro is set to open in six weeks.

People who have helped with the effort for years got to preview and tour the new facility today.

It includes safe waiting rooms for adults and children and a medical room where Cone Health nurses can offer forensic exams.

The goal is to give victims one place to go instead of them having to move around from the police station, courthouse, hospital, social services, etc.

Located on South Greene Street in downtown Greensboro, the Family Justice Center will offer a variety of services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse and child abuse.

The collaborative effort by the city and county involved a $600,000 renovation to make the facility safe and comfortable.
