Suspect charged in Winston-Salem McDonald’s armed robbery

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police have charged a man in connection with the armed robbery of a Winston-Salem McDonald’s last month.

Willie Lee Taylor, 24, is charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

On March 29 at about 9 a.m., Taylor allegedly entered the McDonald’s, located at 780 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, wearing a mask over his face.

He allegedly pointed a handgun at a person standing in line and ordered the patron to the floor. He then allegedly ordered the cashier to empty the register.

Taylor allegedly took an undetermined amount of cash and fled the scene.

He is currently being held in the Forsyth County Detention Center with no bond allowed. He is scheduled to appear in court May 14.
