GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police are looking for three men who robbed a Greensboro home and attacked a woman Wednesday night.

The woman told police she went to let her dogs out before 11 p.m. and found three men in the backyard of her home on the 1600 block of Heraldry Lane.

When the men saw her they tried to strangle her and then fled the area.

She and her husband were still shaken up and did not want to be identified.

"I was basically fighting, that’s all I can say I was doing. I was just frailing my hands all over the place and trying to get away," the victim told FOX8 Thursday. "Then they ran away and jumped our fence."

The woman then went inside to wake up her husband, who was sick in bed.

"She came in the bedroom and woke me up, shaking and crying," he explained. "My first response was to go outside and start looking around so I got my flashlight. I didn’t see anything."

They realized the robbers had also been inside their home at some point.

The victim's husband discovered a pellet gun that did not belong to them on the coffee table. His wallet was also missing.

The woman has scratches on both sides of her neck.

They hope neighbors will be vigilant and report any specific activity to police immediately.
Police were back at the house Thursday and talked to neighbors.

The investigation is ongoing. There is no specific description of the men.
