HIGH POINT, N.C. -- About half a dozen chain restaurants and one gas station have been robbed at gunpoint since late March, according to police.

The latest robbery happened early Wednesday morning at the Bojangles on Westchester Drive.

Lieutenant Kevin Ray says the first robbery happened on March 29 at Arby’s on river Point Place.

  • On April 11, Wendy’s on Eastchester Drive was robbed.
  • April 19, McDonald’s on North Main Street
  • April 21, Sam’s Mart (near McDonald’s) on Westchester Drive
  • April 22, Bojangles on Westchester Drive

Police say in each case, the suspects were males wearing dark clothes with scarves across their faces.

Ray say fast food workers should be extra careful when walking to or leaving their jobs especially early in the morning or late at night.

So far, police haven’t made any arrests but plan on beefing up patrols in areas where there are fast food restaurants.
