Virginia man arrested in NC, accused of abducting daughter, to appear in court

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A father faces an extradition hearing Thursday in uptown Charlotte after police said he took off with his own 4-year-old daughter Wednesday afternoon in Virginia.

The original AMBER Alert said the child’s guardian was assaulted. The girl was not.

That AMBER Alert out of Virginia was canceled Wednesday night after the girl was found safe in Charlotte, authorities said.

Charlotte police found 4-year-old Kaleya Ketter at 7 p.m. on the 900 block of Highland Mist Lane.
