Former NC soccer coach gets life in prison after pleading guilty to sex offense

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A man accused of molesting boys while coaching soccer in the 1980s pleaded guilty Tuesday morning in Rowan County court.

Ralph Wager pleaded guilty to nine counts of indecent liberties and three counts of first-degree sex offense. He was sentenced to life in prison.

Prosecutors were going to play a video in court of a victim who went to Wager’s home. During the conversation, the victim told Wager the relationship they had “messed me up for years and years.”
