MADISON, N.C. -- A company in the Triad has been tapped by Nike to print the official NCAA Championship shirts if Duke wins.

Bob Hemrick, with Custom Screens Incorporated, says they got the designs for the shirt last week. They’ve already printed the first round of pre-ordered shirts, but the rest of the order won’t be printed unless Duke wins.

“We're at a standstill right now, but we'll have about 80 employees coming back tonight at 10:30 p.m. We'll watch the rest of the game here, and if Duke wins, we'll start printing as soon as the game is over,” said Hemrick.

Hemrick says they’ll print more than 21,000 shirts by 8 a.m. Tuesday, and there will not be re-orders once the job is done.

“Once we run what we've got, that's the end of it. We just print them, box them up, and send them out of here. If people want them, they're going to have to get to the store early to get them,” said Hemrick.

If Duke wins, Dick’s Sporting Goods is planning to open their Triad stores at 6 a.m. Tuesday to start selling NCAA Championship merchandise. Participating locations include Wendover Place Shopping Center in Greensboro, Hanes Mall in Winston-Salem and Alamance West Shopping Center in Burlington.
