WENTWORTH, N.C. — Sheriff’s deputies found a body at a Rockingham County motel Saturday morning after they responded to a call for a welfare check, according to The Greensboro News & Record.

Deputies received the call at 11:12 a.m. and found a body when they arrived at Budget Inn, 3980 U.S. 220, south of Madison, according to dispatchers. Foul play is not suspected in the death, said Capt. Tammi Howell.

Deputies have not released the identity of the body. The investigation continues, Howell said.
