CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Fury 325, the world’s tallest and fastest giga coaster, will make its debut Saturday morning at Carowinds.

The thrill ride stands 325 feet tall with an 81-degree initial drop and reaches speeds of 95 mph. It is part of a $50 million multi-year expansion of the park.

The giga coaster will be 20 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty and the park’s general manager said riders will feel a full four seconds of weightlessness on the first drop.

The roller coaster will be the fifth-tallest steel roller coaster and one of the 10 fastest in the world.
