BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police are looking for a man who they say fired shots into a Burlington home, narrowly missing an 11-year-old sleeping in her bed, Wednesday night.

Burlington police have a warrant for the arrest of Trayveon Jayvon Fields, 24, of Durham, in connection to the gunfire.

A woman reported hearing a “pop” at 11:09 p.m. on the 600 Block of Center Ave.

When she went to the bedroom where her 11-year-old daughter was in bed, she saw plaster and dust on her head.

After an investigation police determined that the gun was fired from an adjacent apartment.

Police have warrants for Fields’ arrest on charges of shooting into and occupied dwelling, discharging a firearm within city limits and a felon possessing a firearm.
