GREENSBORO, N.C. — Texas offers opportunity, some Guilford County teachers said Saturday as they left a job fair looking to hire teachers for Houston, according to the Greensboro News & Record.

For instance, with no experience, beginning teachers in Houston will receive starting salaries of $49,100. Salaries increase depending on experience and could reach above $80,000, according to data provided by Felix Boggan, a teacher who interviewed during the job fair.

In North Carolina, the starting salary for a teacher is $33,000. With a local supplement, Guilford County Schools pays new teachers $37,500.
