HIGH POINT, N.C. — Police have released the identity of the woman who was found dead outside a store in south High Point on Sunday afternoon.

Jamey Marie Shafter, 30, has been identified as the victim. Police said a cause of death is not currently known and an autopsy is pending.

High Point police responded after the body was found near the Dao Leunh Market at 219 East Fairfield Road shortly after 1 p.m., according to an official. The scene was cleared by about 2:30 p.m.
