Winston-Salem man robbed by 3 people in front of preschool

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Three people were arrested Sunday after allegedly threatening a man with a hypodermic needle and robbing him in front of a preschool.

Daniel Rodriguez, 30, went to A Child’s World Learning Center located at 702 N. Cherry St. around 5 p.m., Sunday to interview three people for a job. The center was closed at the time.

Rodriguez told police that when he arrived at the preschool’s parking lot to interview  Dakota Michael Jackson, 19; Brandon James Smallwood, 25; and Glenwood Elbert Jones, 23; they threatened him with a hypodermic needle and demanded money.

The three suspects allegedly assaulted Rodriguez and took an undisclosed amount of cash from him before fleeing the scene.

Police were able to locate and arrest the suspects at their home on the 700 block of Oak Street.

All three were charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Rodriguez was treated by EMS at the scene.
