CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two South Carolina police officers, accused of abusing their 3-month-old child, will face a judge Monday for an extradition hearing.

The parents — 45-year-old Robert Taylor and 36-year-old Audrey Schurig — are accused of abusing their own infant son.

The investigation started in February when Taylor and Schurig took the boy to Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

Doctors said the child had brain and neck injuries and seizure-like symptoms and had to be flown to Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte.

A warrant said Taylor inflicted great bodily injury on the child. He and Schurig now face child abuse charges.
