SOUTHPORT, N.C. — A 12-foot alligator temporarily blocked traffic on a North Carolina road on Thursday, according to WBTW in Myrtle Beach.

The Brunswick Town Fort Anderson State Historic Site in Winnabow shared a photo of a huge alligator on their Facebook page. It happened in Brunswick County.

“We’re currently experiencing traffic delays approaching the site,” the post read. “But you can’t blame it on DOT construction this time.”

The alligator eventually moved off the road, according to WNCT. State officials urge people not to feed alligators.
