
HIGH POINT, N.C. -- In today's Mommy Matters FOX8's Shannon Smith looks into the importance of a fathers in the family.
Luly Beckles with Family Services in Winston-Salem discussed the importance of fathers in the family. She said a fathers' affection and increased family involvement can help promote children's social and emotional development.
Marvin Blue, a single father of four, is taking part in the classes offered by Family Services and two of his children attend the Head Start program.
"I feel that the Head Start program is great for fathers," Blue said. "One of the things I have learned since my children started in the Head Start program is 'redirecting my children`s behavior' which has greatly benefited all of us."
