STATESVILLE, N.C. — Statesville Police are looking for a suspect in connection to an armed robbery of a CVS Monday night.

The man entered the CVS located at 3111 Taylorsville Highway and walked straight down an aisle to the pharmacy section.

Then the man handed an employee a written note demanding pain medication.

He pulled out a handgun twice during the incident. When the employee backed away from the counter the suspect ordered the other employees to sit down on the floor.

One of the employees handed over the medication and the suspect fled out of an emergency exit and went behind the CVS toward Boxcar Grille.

Based on surveillance footage, officers described the suspect as a heavy-set male wearing a  blue hooded sweatshirt with white strings and a white zipper. He was also wearing brown or green shoes and jeans.

The suspect entered the store without a mask, but did pull a black ski mask over his face during the incident. Surveillance video shows he was also wearing a glove on his right hand.

No one was injured during the incident.
